NCAA Shootaround: Test Week

Ok full disclosure here, this is test week for me so I only had time to pay attention to one game this week. I apologize for not having better priorities.

Duke vs. Notre Dame

Duke with a vengeance may be the scariest team in college basketball, and no I haven’t forgotten that Kentucky is a college basketball team. The Fighting Irish arrived at Cameron Indoor on Saturday as the number ten team in the nation. They opened the game on a 6-0 run and then Duke proceeded to redefine the term “on fire”. The clinic the Blue Devils put on in the first half was one of the best shooting performances I’ve ever seen. Matt Jones started raining 3’s, Jahlil Okafor was instilling fear in mortals before he picked up two fouls, Tyus Jones and Quinn Cook and Justise Winslow all cashed in a three of their own, and whichever Plumlee is still at Duke did a few Plumlee things. I’ve never liked Duke, but there’s at least a pretty good chance that they are the nation’s best hope for a Kentucky loss in the tournament.

In honor of it being test week, I’ll end this section with a true/false question. True or false: Bill Raftery said that Jahlil Okafor uses his derriere to clear out the baseline with a straight face.

The answer to that question, regrettably, is true.
